Product Test
Prior to product launches, the product test serves the purpose of aligning important product properties more specifically with the consumers’ requirements and expectations.
In product tests, selected test persons are presented with a product for trial consumption or trial handling, respectively. Subsequently the assessment and evaluation of the products are surveyed.
The test can refer to the product as a whole or to aspects like its name, packaging, price, taste etc.
Frequent test objectives are:
- Comparing the product’s image with competitive products.
- Establishing alternative products.
- Establishing the ideal product quality.
- Establishing the best product.
- Establishing the effects of product alterations.
- Establishing the market price.
